What can you do with a bad grade in quantum

What can you do with a bad grade in quantum It took me a while to internalize that a grade is fixed but ones reaction to it is not. Like I mentioned, 8.05 (Quantum II) was a rough time; frankly, I should have dropped the class after the midterm, but I was too stubborn (or too persistent*?) *I once asked a friend what distinguishes persistence from stubbornness. He said: whether you succeed or fail. Ummgreat. When I found out my final exam score, my brain immediately switched into problem? theres a problem? WHAT SHOULD BE DONE? mode. My neurons fired through some possible courses of action, and settled on: moping. First, I moped alone. During this period, I decided that the responsible course of action would be to e-mail my professor and my TA. After procrastinating for a few hours, I finally hit send, and away went my request for advice you can give me on how to move forward from here. I thanked them for their help during the semester, etc, and returned to angsting privately. But not for long. An hour and a half later, my professor responded, expressing sympathy, frustration because Prof. Adams* and I concur that you know a lot more than what you exam grades show! and said that he would be happy to meet with me. Absolutely mortified at the idea that they had discussed me at the grading session, I arranged to meet with him on January 4, when I returned to campus after winter break. *The TA of the other recitation section The next day, after my linear algebra final (which was a much more pleasant experience) I was ready for the next step: to mope in good company. I went over to my friend Sams dorm and watched How I Met Your Mother and ate a chocolate cupcake. Then came the first of two very profound e-mail moments. Out of the blue, I got a message from Professor Adams. Weve finished grading the class, he wrote, and I wanted to to write to say that I think the final exam did not accurately reflect your command of the material and to encourage you to not let it discourage you. Ive been impressed by your questions, answers, quick thinking and enthusiasm. Keep it up, dont lose heart, and go knock 8.06 out of the park. I will never, in my entire life IN MY ENTIRE LIFE forget how it felt to receive that e-mail. If I go crazy and forget who I am and what species of creature I belong to, I will still remember that feeling. Professor Adams probably wrote it quickly and didnt think much about it afterwards, but woah. That meant the world to me. There was one more person I wanted to talk to. I waited until I got back home, to London, then e-mailed him,  asking to meet on January 4 (I figured I might as well get all these conversations over with at once.) I realized that I had previously only been to see him with good news (babbling about how excited I was about my summer research, etc) and wanted to be open about my academic situation I hoped for some perspective on what to do about it, in return. This led to the second profound moment. After I made the appointment with Dumbledore, I freaked out a little bit and e-mailed one of my best friends (and long-time pset buddy) telling him what Id done and that I was worried that Dumbledore would judge me stop having faith in me, or no longer think I could succeed in astronomy. He  responded with an e-mail that I wont reproduce in its entirety; one section that meant a lot to me, though, was: no matter what, do not let yourself think that you cant succeed. Youre smart[and]  an enjoyable person to be around. Sure, it might not show on any transcript, but dont underestimate that value in where you end up. He finished by saying I have always thought that you were valuable person to work with. I have always known you can succeed. I really mean that. Thats another e-mail I will never forget. Remind people that you believe in them! Today is January 4. At 11am, I met with Dumbledore. I got there early and wandered around the hallway a bit, steeling myself, and clinging very tightly onto those two e-mails. Dont let yourself think that you cant succeed, dont lose heart I shouldnt have worried. When, with a gulp, I brought up 8.05, stammering way more than I usually do, Dumbledore didnt bat an eyelash. He was quiet for a couple of minutes, stared off at the wall, then said something like it is not uncommon. I found some awkward way to ask IS MY LIFE RUINED? and his answer was, in a nutshell, no. dont let it happen again, but what really matters is what you do about it. So, we discussed what I could do about it. He suggested that I become a grader for the class, as a way to gain familiarity with the material and, I guess, demonstrate how serious I was about learning it. That idea hadnt occurred to me, so I wrote it down to remember during my subsequent meeting with my 8.05 professor. He thought for another minute, then said: did [the professor] type up his notes? I replied that he typed up some of them, but ran out of time by a little over halfway through the semester. You could offer to LaTeX them for him, he said, and I nodded, since Id already thought of that. At 12:55pm, I found myself outside my 8.05 professors office, taking some very deep breaths. I knocked; he wasnt in. A couple of minutes later, a cheery ANNA!!! floated into the hallway, followed by the always-smiley Professor Zwiebach.  He let me in,  picked up a notepad and a pen (uh oh.) and sat at the table with me. So, he began. What can we learn from this experience? AHHHHHHHHHHH. Um. Brain blank. He looked up at me and put the pen down. What are YOUR thoughts? I mentally slapped myself, sat up straight, rested my hands on the table, and was careful to look him in the eye. I guess I have two main concerns. He nodded gently. The first isconcern with my understanding of the material - More nodding. and the second is how this is going to affect me with, you know, things like graduate school applications. He nodded more. About the first one, II met with a professor earlier today, and we have some ideas. I told him about the grading, and the LaTeX idea, then asked for his suggestions. He seemed surprised, but said that those were both great ideas, and that he would love help with the notes. He went a step further, to suggest that I grade for 8.04 (Quantum I) in the spring. We settled on a game plan: I would grade for 8.04, then 8.05, and type up the notes in LaTeX. Then, the questions began.  Lots of questions. He picked up the pen, and asked what classes Im taking next semester, what my interests are, what I want to do after college. I talked about science writing, and pulsars, and the conference, and public speaking, and museums and planetariums. I told him my IAP plans, and he exclaimed that you have a very exciting life! We talked briefly about C.S. Lewis and Tolkien and The Hobbit (we both liked the movie a lot.) When I started going on about this, he politely steered the conversation back to 8.05 and my feelings. He asked how I felt before, during, and after the exams; how I felt while psetting; how I felt during lectures, during recitations. It was a little painful to re-live all of that. I thought about a documentary I watched on the plane ride, the day before. It was about James Cooks trip to Australia, when he claimed it for England and named it New South Wales (the obvious thing to name a new country). Apparently, on the way back, the ship struck a coral reef and began to sink. Cooks resident botanist flipped out (mentally) and the sailors began flinging (flipping?) their heavy belongings overboard. Eventually, they threw out enough equipment that the ship returned to a safe, floating equilibrium. It was quiet in Prof. Zwiebachs office after I finished. He folded his fingers together  and stared at his notepad,  which now had some blue ink descriptions of Anna and her interests. He said it was hard to know what the problem was: whether I didnt understand the material or just suffered from severe exam anxiety problems (or both.) He made an analogy to hard drives and RAM. He then said that, although my grade obviously couldnt be changed, he could give me the exam again: I could take it as a problem set, with open notes and as much time as I needed, and scan my answers back to him. I would let him know how much time it took me, and how often I needed to refer to notes. Together, we would diagnose whats going on. I accepted. He printed the exam out for me. I folded it in half and tucked it into my notebook. Its sitting in my purse now, waiting. I stood up, we shook hands, I left. I bought a cup of mocha coffee (my treat for myself at Times Like This) and went to Building 37 (the astrophysics department) to do some data analysis for my research. A couple of hours later, Professor Dumbledore walked by and I told him about my conversation with Prof. Zwiebach. I announced the game plan. He smiled, nodded, said youve got a plan, and walked on. Youre always told that in college, teachers arent going to come find you when youre struggling and ask you whats going on. And its certainly true that Zwiebach would never have approached me with ideas for more chances to learn. Dumbledore would certainly never have known about the situation, but I figured that I stood to gain more than I stood to lose by bringing him in. These are busy guys. But they weighed in when I reached out, and I feel the situation floating back to within my control, which is where I like situations to be. I should also mention that not all professors would do this Im very grateful.  Rock on, MIT physics department. And thank you, MIT Physics Department physicists. In High School, I had an English teacher (who remains one of my Favorite People Ever) who always signs off his e-mails to me with the same word. Its been ringing in my head for days, so Ill end with it here. Onward!

The Allegory Of The Cave By Jason Rene Castro And Seth David

I Believe, written by Jason Rene Castro and Seth David, is a song about having faith. The narrator believes that we can control the future, but more specifically, our own future. The title extensionally defines this song by indicating all the things that he believes in and why he believes in such things. There is a deep meaning throughout the song and it expresses how people should be good and positive, even in the darkest times, which I believe is true. In The Allegory of the Cave,† by Plato, there are prisoners in a cave with a fire that is located behind them. They have always faced the wall of the cave and have only seen what was outside of the cave from the shadows. They believe that the shadows of the objects carried are real but in reality, it s just a shadow of the truth. The prisoners play a game where they guess what the shadows are and end up believing that it is the truth. However, when one prisoner escapes and faces reality, where the sun is a source of life, he realizes that the game was pointless. He seeks for meaning and truth from his journey outside of the cave. Socrates then insists that he must return to the cave and share what he has found with the prisoners because it will benefit everyone as a whole. However, when he returns and informs the prisoners, they react by not believing him and threatening to kill him if he set them free, because they are scared of the change that would occur after knowing the tr uth. Socrates believes that knowledge gained

The Issue Of Elderly Abuse - 1957 Words

â€Å"Every year an estimated 5 million older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. And that’s only part of the picture: Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect reported, as many as 23 cases go unreported† (World Elder Abuse Awareness Day). The issue of elderly abuse is a growing topic in our country because it violates three specific articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Elderly abuse and neglect is an increasing age discrimination issue in the United States and violates the human rights to an adequate standard of living, equal protection under the law, and the right to be free from degrading treatment. This is viol ating the right to an adequate standard of living because these people were being drugged in the nursing home which they considered home. The residents no longer felt safe in their living space and this is taking away the human right established in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In a study by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, Dr. Harruff evaluated this correlation, In an elderly individual, invariably there s a combination of processes -- if there s neglect, there s usually disease and neglect, he said. For patients in nursing homes, sores can mean that staffers aren t turning or moving them enough, a serious violation of accepted standards of health care. Federal data show that more than 7 percent of long-term nursing-home residents have pressure ulcers† (Lee and Thompson). If the elderly were able to defend themselves and express this abuse to others effectively, caregivers would not treat them this way because they know that they are ina dequately providing care and this is illegal. The Alzheimer’s Association also recognizes that dementia can affect communication, â€Å"People with dementia are especially vulnerable because the disease

Joan of Arc Essay Essays

Joan of Arc Essay Essays Joan of Arc Essay Essay Joan of Arc Essay Essay Essay Topic: Saint Joan Throughout the life of Saint Joan of Arc she showed and proved that she possessed three outstanding virtues of Justice, courage, and spirituality. Joan of Arc was one of the first women that ever Joined an army and everyday she showed that she was courageous and Just. Saint Joan also proved that she was Just when she refused to lead an attack against innocent civilians even though the general gave her specific orders dodo so. It is also known that Saint Joan hated seeing anyone in a type of bloodshed or pain. Even though Saint Joan was Just it did not keep her from being courageous. One way Saint Joan proved that she was courageous was by being a women and leading the French army in fifteenth century when at the time being a women in the army was unacceptable. But even as a child Saint Joan of Arc showed much courage. Once as a child a man with an ax came out of the woods threatening to kill everyone and as everyone ran away little Joan of Arc approached him, talked to him and convinced him to set the ax down and stop the threats. As many courageous acts Saint Joan made it was her spirituality that kept her going at times she did not know exactly what to do. It was most likely Saint Jeans spirituality that helped win every battle considering before every battle she would give great praise to God. Another example of Jeans spirituality Is how she heard voices from God every since she was a child to when she was a young adult. These voices as well helped her through Just about everything from the point when she was fighting battles to when she was trying to find the Dauphin In a large crowd. Even though Saint Joan of Arc was put through many tough obstacles In life her character did not change and she remained Just, courageous, and spiritual throughout her life.

Organizational Behavior Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Organizational Behavior - Case Study Example Secondly Turner found that the activities of the concern lacked due organizing elements which made the organization suffer from financial and strategic crisis. Thirdly the President felt reluctant to enhance the communication activities amongst the people working in the management groups thereby restricting teamwork and sharing of resources. Fourthly owing to lack of proper communication the President failed to learn the right potential of his managerial team which thereby rendered in reducing motivation and productivity. Fifthly, Cardullo reflected a sense of adamant and destructive attitude in his dealings with subordinate team members. In addition to being rough with people, Cardullo declined to understand the potential of the advices and suggestions rend from the subordinates thus reflecting a total disregard to such. Sixthly, Cardullo owing to his shortsightedness declined to understand the advantages that the firm would receive in incorporating the new strategies produced by Tu rner but continued focusing only on the outcomes-dropping margins and financial health. Thus the President of Modern Lighting Incorporation reflected a continuing sense of being reluctant to the problems and issues faced in by the people both at the managerial and subordinate level. The President hooked on to his own ideas only and disregarded any form of communication in regards to formulating strategic decisions in regards to gaining on in margins and markets. Ineffective organization and decision making activities coupled with lack of communication and teamwork worked to enhance the failure of the corporation in regards to falling margins. Behaviors and Activities of Individuals Illustrating an Impact on the Issues An effective leader requires effective communication with the people employed in the different levels of the concern pertaining to managerial and subordinating ranks to gain potential feedbacks and suggestions. Such level of interaction would help the manager gain pote ntial information to formulate strategic decisions (Singla, 2010, p.453-454). In regards to the case Pat Cardullo is found to avoid having any form of potential communication with managerial members like Jamie Turner and other subordinate members like Tim Kelly and Ernie Dennis. Lack of proper communication thereby tends to create a rift between the people employed in different levels thereby jeopardizing productivity and motivation. Further Pat Cardullo focused on independent working rather than working based on rationalistic argumentation between people working in parallel positions or between managers and subordinates. Working based on rationalistic arguments tends to increase productivity rather than working in an independent fashion (Kreitner and Kinicki, 2008, p.359). Again Pat Cardullo is found to work on setting a managerial objective of gaining on in margins without rendering possible insights to his team about the process in accomplishing such. He is also observed to be in flexible to the ideas rendered in by subordinates and managerial team to gain on margins and dependable on short run objectives (Koontz and Weihrich, 2006, p.93). Finally Pat Cardullo is observed to promote groupism in the company through using Julie Chin in gaining information about activities of Janie Turner. The extent of groupism tends to create distortion in organizational relationships

Debate on Relativism and the Absolute Truth Research Paper - 1

Debate on Relativism and the Absolute Truth - Research Paper Example This discussion stresses that many people, across various cultures, in the world have various notions about what they perceive to be true. On one hand, fundamental theologians advocate for the absolute truth. On the second side, the proponent of neo-modern ethics tends to question the traditional version about truth. Theologians and other theorists have taken the trouble of analyzing relativism with respect to the religious teachings. The puzzle emanates from the convictions built by a given society against certain morals. For instance, the scientific theories and the religious teaching about the existence of God do leads to many questions. A person may take a wild imagination about the existence of God, leading to a theory about the same. The consequence of such action would be emergence of a given theory. This paper makes a conclusion that one cannot preach the gospel while arguing on a middle ground. This view tends to suggest that a Christian teaching or a given notion belong to one of the two sides: absolute truth or wrong. For example, when a person falls in water, it is evident that the person would be wet. This outcome does not give any room for meddling between the person coming out of water when dry and the person coming out of water when wet. The revelation of the above action enables us to argue that absolute truth exists. While this appears to be so, many people tend argue or stagger when issues regarding Christianity are mentioned. For instance, how much truth should a Christian accept in relation to certain principle in Christianity.

Alice in Wonderland Artwork by Sigmar Polke: Analysis

Alice in Wonderland Artwork by Sigmar Polke: Analysis Sigmar Polke was creating a wide range of surfaces with various materials, as shown in his 1971 artwork of Alice in Wonderland (Figure 1), which is paint printed on a store bought printed fabric, not a canvas. The artwork is divided into three images. The background shows a soccer game. In the middle and part of the bottom, you notice polka dots covering up some characters. In the front, the audience sees a transparent Alice talking to the smoking caterpillar, who is sitting on the mushroom. As you read Alice in Wonderland, [1] when Alice takes a bite out of the mushroom, she can either grow big or small. This shows that drugs may help the audience for a little bit, but then most of the time, drugs do not help you. Next to the Alice in Wonderland characters in the painting, there is a translucent soccer player. The mixed media art may have been here to tell people, the brain is on drugs when the audience is watching sports. You notice the translucent characters more, since they appear larger than the soccer players. It gives you a depressed and lonely feeling because the translucent characters have no color. It is as though the characters have died and the brain is already dead. The characters being see through indicates they have lost their color; they have lost their soul. Despite having no color, we can still see them; this could indicate they are about to die and be forgotten. The colors of the soccer players are bold because it shows the drugs have sucked up their soul and are going to take over their life. There are splashes of red and yellow on the polka dots. This could mean that not only is your mind confused, it is also messed up. The characters are there, but the audience can barely see them, indicating they could be becoming invisible. Notice how the polka dots only cover up the middle section and a little bit on the bottom because the artist probably wanted to make sure he was covering up Alice, to show her being curious and confused. Alice is watching the caterpillar smoking. The caterpillar faces away from the audience, possibly ashamed of smoking. The artwork has no symmetry. This shows it is not organized because it is supposed to give you confusion. I looked closely at the background and noticed there are many soccer balls, when you only need to play with one. There are also too many players for the soccer game. This is another indication of your brain on drugs with the side effect of having hallucinations and seeing things more than once. [2]Polke used polka dots. This is a pun of the artists name. Using the polka dots is a reference to Sigmar Polkes use of the media and raster dots. The illustrations of the Alice in Wonderland characters are taken from the illustrations by Sir John Tenniel, which were used in Lewis Carrolls 1865 Alice in Wonderland. I feel like there is no true geometric form; even the panels do not look evenly rectangular. The only thing that looks like a perfect shape would be a sphere (the soccer ball). The audience cannot see all of the faces clearly and cannot see their emotion. Since they are hiding their faces, they are probably depressed from taking drugs. The caterpillar is the one taking the drugs. He merely sits, indicating drugs will make everyone lazy. Alice is the bystander, looking up at the caterpillar, wondering if she should try the drugs too. There are no fixed meanings of Sigmar Polke having layers on the image; it shows too many situations. The audience can only interpret what Sigmar Polke is trying to tell us. The picture is showing me if we watch too much television, the mind is going to have a lot of hallucinations between reality and fiction. The Alice in Wonderland characters do not have enough light as the soccer players. The position of the characters are all different. Alice is standing, the caterpillar is sitting and the soccer players are playing. Do the Alice in Wonderland characters have more attention than the soccer players? The pose may be jumpy, yet Sigmar Polke is giving everyone a warning. The use of color in the background and the characters being translucent reveal what happens to the life of a person on drugs; their emotions fade. By not showing the peoples facial expressions, theres an indication they have sold their identity to drugs: they have lost their soul. Alice in Wonderland became quite a humorous visual correspondence using the projection of transparent images onto grounds composed of multiple, contrasting cloths. [3] Thus, the artwork, with its variations from mixed media, suggests the presence, in fabric, of reality versus fantasy with the mind on drugs. 839 words References Carroll, Lewis. African American in 19th Century Essay

The Civil war after effects; set the scene for what would become a long road of discovery, hardship, violence, and freedom however, during this process of transition the American people went through emotional as well economical changes which added additional stress to an already stressed nation where many groups became fearful and were subjected to racism which crossed over the boundary of liberty and Justice for all. Equality had become an endangered liberty guaranteed by a country build upon democracy, regrettably the African American people were not the only ones to suffer many vast groups faced hard days in America at the turn of the century several violent attacks were specifically carried out on the African American men and women even though, the civil war brought a lot of changes it produced little or no results for African American men; however, it did bring harsher persecution all over the country, whereas mass numbers of black men were lynched in the lower southern states in a show of defiance. â€Å"The Emancipation Act† did nothing for the white man but still provided less for the African black man who were still unable to vote in addition to having descent jobs with adequate pay many were forced back to the farm as sharecropper’s despite the set backs they percervered through the racial remarks and slanders. Black men and women were segragated from the start and separate waiting rooms bathrooms and dinning facilities openly poject the sentiments of the American people of the era, within the State of Mississippi; In Plessy vs. Ferguson (1896), The Supreme Court reinforced that â€Å"Blacks and Whites should be separate, but equal. † The statement SEPERATE but EQUAL! thosewords only produced Segregation on a bias legal system of fairness and equality in which a country struggling already became the fuel on a fire already burning and would later divided the country in later years sparking new violence and refocused hatred. More over the Men and women of that time were forced to swear on separate bibles, they couldn’t vote in the election in the country in which they were guaranteed equal rights because they were under disfranchisement, and the racism was developing more and more is some southern locations, for an example many southern states legislated that if your grandfather had cast a ballot then you are allowed to vote and this law supported that nearly all southern white mean were permitted to vote and excluded all African Americans in most situations men whose grandparents had most likely been slaves never voted. Booker T. Washington’s submitted a lot for the African Americans in turn of the century, after his famous speech in Atlanta 1895 (Atlanta Compromise) in about one year the African Americans got more rights, they began to use separated but equal facilities, it was stupid to say the least but it provided a line of truths temporarily and unfourantely included racist ideas inside but it was better than it had been before. Booker T. Washington’s met the American president Theodore Roosevelt at the white house in 1901 and that was a good step towards get the African American and their rights another great pioneer of that time was Du Boise who supported the right for equality and the strive to have equal opportunities within society however Booker T. Washington’s did a lot more for the African American rights, Washington became the Founder of the Niagara movement in 1905. † In 1909 the Niagara movement efforts led to foundation of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) which now is the enforcing representation of the African American whereas Booker T. Washington’s inspiration became a door way to freedom and allowed the African American man to have a voice in society. Finally, if I was African American living at that time, I will say that Booker T. Washington’s and Du Bois were the best representatives of the African Americans all over the country, and Booker T. Washington’s started the movement of the African Americans civil rights, while Du Bois came later to continue and support his efforts, they were great team and deserve the respect.

Perspectives on Hope Eudora Weltys A Worn Path, and Maya...

The emotion of hope is important because life is uncertain. Factors such as wealth, education and opportunity may play a role in dividing people into different social categories, but no amount of privilege or advantage can shield a person from disappointment, pain, loss or death. These are universal adversities for all humankind. The word hope can be defined in different ways. Many religious people think of hope as a virtue, along with faith and love. Survivors of trauma often credit hope as the inspiration that kept them going. A realists may say that hope is nothing more than wishful thinking. No matter how it is defined, whether it is a belief or a feeling, hope is the idea of something bigger than oneself. The application of hope can†¦show more content†¦I seen plenty go off closer by, in my day, and for less than what I done† (p. 317). As Dennis Sykes explains in his article, Phoenix had lived long enough to understand the ways in which she was viewed by society. If the hunter’s reference to his gun was an attempt to intimidate the old woman, he is not successful (Sykes 152). She has survived too many years in the face of discrimination to be quickly frightened. Likewise, she isn’t easily offended. Upon arrival at the hospital where she hopes to get the medication, she is greeted with more stereotypical opinion when the attendant at the desk greets her by saying, â€Å"A charity case, I suppose† (Welty 318). Phoenix has likely grown accustomed to society looking down on her due to the color of her skin or her lack of education. However, Phoenix is a shining example that not everything is as it appears to be. Elaine Orr points out that â€Å"On the one hand, the attendant reads her blackness as meaning she requires charity, on the other hand, †¦ Phoenix’s story is about charity† (Orr 67). Much like the ancestors of Maya Angelou, Phoenix has chosen to embrace hope despite the cruel truths of racism. In t he same way that hope has colored the past, optimism and positive thinking has the ability to affect present situations. When enduring struggles or facing fears, hope can provide feelings of comfort. It can be used as a coping mechanism. Maya Angelou relates a tone of satisfaction when she weighs the conditions of her life

Analysis Of The Movie The Space Essay - 1318 Words

About this Production This adaptation is about reclamation. What exactly are we reclaiming? Space. The space to belong, the space to express ourselves and our ideas, the space to consider our bodies in spaces traditionally not accessible to us. It is about modernizing social movements to serve all members of the community, not just those privileged enough to have a platform of power. To that end, An (Un)American Daughter is not a celebration of how far we have come as a society. But, more importantly, it is about revealing how far we have left to go and how much is left to accomplish. When Wasserstein first wrote this play, it was seen a play that lacked a concrete sense of direction and simplistically regurgitated social values in the mid-1900s (CITATION). Ben Bradley for The New York Times wrote that neither the direction nor the dialogue could â€Å"conceal the feeling that she doesn’t know entirely where she’s heading or how to get there† (CITATION). Over time, the play has found itself transformed into a farce of neoliberal ideologies surrounding race, power, and access to positions of power in modern-day America. An American Daughter has a lot to tell us of our current political ideologies and how they affect how Americans think about key issues such as social access, racial justice, and gender equality.
